Synthetic / Chemical gypsum is an eco-friendly, high-purity form of calcium sulfate dihydrate produced from industrial by-products like spent sulfuric acid. At Pure Leela, we transform waste into value — creating gypsum that meets the strict quality needs of cement, construction, and agricultural industries, while promoting sustainability and reducing environmental impact. Here’s how we transform industrial waste into high-quality synthetic / chemical gypsum.
Process of Making Gypsum From Spent Acid

Here’s a quick breakdown of the process :
-
Waste Limestone Feed (1–3)
-
Limestone is fed into the process as the calcium source.
-
-
Spent H₂SO₄ Feed (4–5)
-
Acid from industrial waste streams is introduced.
-
-
Neutralization Reaction Tanks (6)
-
Spent acid reacts with calcium carbonate in the limestone.
-
CO₂ is released as a by-product.
-
Hot water circulation improves reaction efficiency.
-
-
Settling Tank (7)
-
Separates solid gypsum from the liquid filtrate.
-
Filtrate contains nutrients (Na⁺, K⁺, Mg²⁺, Ca²⁺, SO₄²⁻) that can be used as fertilizer.
-
-
Solid-Liquid Separation (8)
-
Filter press or centrifuge is used to remove water from gypsum solids.
-
-
Drying (10)
-
Moisture in gypsum is reduced to required limits.
-
-
Storage & Dispatch (11)
-
Final synthetic gypsum is stored and packaged for use in cement, boards, or plaster.
